The managerial tools to support the direction of an enterprise are increasingly directed towards control requirements and the realization of the strategy: for many businesses control of strategic performance is as important as the measurement of operational performance, traditionally at the center of operation control systems. The new "watchword" is integration among organizational and strategic dimensions in the direction of the enterprise and directional control systems. In particular, the company Controller has to know how to take up the challenge outlined, not only accompanying change but promoting it.

To illustrate the principal interpretative elements within planning and control, introducing the appropriate tools to strengthen control systems to balance both operational and strategic objectives.
